"Help wanted" & "Missing Persons" I have received several e-mails asking if I know what happened to this person from school, of for help finding ancestors. Usually the answer is "sorry, I just do not know" then someone mentioned that maybe I could add a page just for such things. As we have 300-400 visitors a month, maybe it will help others like myself trying to find lost memories. Well here it goes, I will start to add such requests. Maybe other visitors could be of some help.
(This was originally posted to the Yahoo Genealogy group, where I am a member.) Ancestor Hello one and all. >I am doing genealogy on my mother's side of the family. Unfortunately >she passed away over 20 years ago and there is no one (that I know of) >left to ask questions on her family. >From scraps of paper I have found my grandparents names and that's >about it. My grandfather Arthur Schneider was born in 1882, German >background. I only have a piece of paper with PA on it. Have no idea >what that means. So, I'm trying to find a needle in a haystack with >his parents. I can find him in 1910 NY census and his family (my mother) >in 1930 NY census that states he was born in PA. The other census >state he was born in Germany. I'm totally confused! In a 1900 PA census >I found an Arthur Schneider born in 1884 with a Geo as a father. >My head is getting sore with all these brick walls. >Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have any idea what area of PA to look in. So, I think any area is a start. Avis Thrisk e-mail flea_4u@msn.com
