School Board met and agreed to pay normal bills listed (I wont list these bills here)

Richardsville Pa. Feb 14th 1920 

School Board met and agreed to pay normal bills listed (I wont list these bills here) except to include here 

Ray Richards - Estimating cost for new building $6.00 (It is assumed this meant the cost to build the new school building)

On motion we ordered record cards for H.S. Carried 200 cards and containers.

On motion duly made and seconded and carried that we borrow $500.00 more from Harve Wingard.  $400.00 had been borrowed and no note given at the previous meeting. We granted an order paying the sum on $400.00 and given our note for $900.00.

On motion we adjourned.

L.E.Bartlett Sect.

Note: March 6th 1920 

M.W.Chamberlin and L.E.Bartlett went to Hazen and met with the East Warsaw directors to divide the apportion for the common schools.  The whole appropriations was sent to the Warsaw S.D.  This was for 1918-1919 whole amount $1444.69  East End $901.41  West $543.28.

School board met all members present:

The board proceeded to make an estimate of expenses for the coming year, in order to levy enough taxes for paying needed expenses.  On motion a tax of 18 mills was laid and $4.00 per capita.  

Pekin Pa. May 29th 1020

West Warsaw S.B. met in Richardsville with all members present.

Harvey Wingard and M.W.Chamberlin were appointed a commence to investigate the gas situation in regard to getting gas for Richardsville School.

The matter of electing teachers for the schools was taken up and the following teachers were elected for year 1920-21.  No2 at Richardsville Grace Johnson, No1 Alma Beatty, Russell, Mildred Shaffer.

On investigation since last meeting the board found that a considerable raise would have to be made in teacher's salaries and the motion to lay 18 mills for the coming year was re-considered and a motion was unanimously carried to make the millage 22 instead of 18.

Pekin Pa. June 19 1920

School board met, all members present

No news about the possibility of gas at the school building.

The wage question was taken up and on motion the wages for provisional certificates is to be paid $70.00 per month and professional certificate $90.00 per month.

It was decided by motion that we open the Smith School and secure a teacher.

Richardsville Pa July 3 1920

School board met, for settlement and other business. All members present

Mrs Mary VanNorman was paid $5.50 for dinner and supper for directors and auditors.

On motion David Gayley was elected to teach the Smith School.

Pekin Pa. July 19 1920

School Board met at J.M.Yount's, All members present

paid bills to include:

A.M.Bedell for roofing school house $25.00

Eldred Twpt. school district tuition for Lindsay children 1919-20 and Mary Thrush.

The community on gas reported and were instructed to get someone to gauge the well at Dan McFadden's and see if there is enough gas there, a motion was made and duly seconded that we get gas into the Richardsvylle school house.

The Sect. was instructed to write the Dept. of Public Instruction in regard to closets of Richardsville school house and explain matters in regard to cement, labor etc and tell them we will do the best we can to improve conditions better.

Pekin Pa. Aug 14 1920

School board met all members present.

Committee on gas reported and Sect was instructed to write Pa-Tx oil and gas Co. and see if gas could be secured.

On motion and duly carried that school board build a closet for the boys at Richardsville.  Closet to be 6 x 8 ft.

H.S.Wingard was paid $527.00 on note owed.

On motion the Sect. was instructed to contact H.A.Mooney to teach the High School at $165.00 per month.

On motion we open our schools on second Monday in Sept - carried

On motion the Sect. was instructed to advertise for bids for transportation of pupils of Smith School.

Each director was instructed to get the schools in shape he was looking after.  $4.00 for cleaning each room, $1.00 for closet and $2.00 for cleaning the yard.

School board met all members present.

Mr. Mooney presented the matter of some new books needed for H.S and the Sect. was instructed to order the books as soon as Mr. Mooney and Co. Supt. decided on texts to be used.

On motion Sect. was instructed to order water containers for each school.

The bid of D.L. Varner to deliver children of Smith school to Richardsville for $195.00 per month was rejected.

Motion was made and carried to ask state to open Smith school. Miss Lucy Mohney was unanimously elected to teach Smith School.
