Here are School expenses for current year

Jan 5 1924 School Board met: Carrier, Van Norman, Homer Carrier and Bartlett present
L.E. Bartlett were appointed to see if J.P. McCracken about serving on the
board in D.E. McFadden's place.

Feb 2 1924 Carrier, VanNorman &Bartlett were present
Commission reported on regard to J.P. McCracken that he would serve .
McCracken was unanimously elected to serve as Director in McFadden's place

7th 1924: Here I will include an announcement about an event at "The
Hall" it was the building at the bottom of Richardsville hill, it was a
store at one time, then afterwards became known as "The Hall" where community
events were put on. (inserted here to show other things going on at that
time.)

April 5 1924 School board met, all members present

On motion the Secretary was instructed to see our Attorney about selling the
Smith School.

May 3 1924 School Board met, all members present
(paid normal bills also including R.A. Shaffer for Diplomas - $5.00
On motion Helen Davis and Ruby Shreckengost were elected to take same rooms
as last year.
On motion David Gayley was elected to teach Russell school term of 1924-25
On motion J.P. McCracken was appointed to get galvanized pipe and put in at
McFadden's ready for water at School House.

May 12 1924 Special meeting, all members present
On motion unanimously carried Arthur Dickey was elected Principal of West
Warsaw Schools at a Salary of $130.00 per mo. and schools to be open in the H.S.
for groups.
On motion the Smith School house ordered to be sold at the price of $300.00
and said to be advertised in two county papers.
On motion the schools were granted the privilege of attending the Wednesday
afternoon Convention at Baptist Church.
Levying the millage for schools for term 1924-1925
After considerable discussion the board levied 35 mills on the dollar, 20
mills for running schools and 15 mills for building debt and 5 mills per capita.
It was found that David Gayley could not take the Russell School and Mr.
Eugene Whitchell was elected in his place for $100.00 per month.

June 23 1924 School Board met in special meeting, all members present
The name of Miss Lucas was presented for teacher of the first two years of
H.S. and she was unanimously elected at a salary of $140.00 per month.
Motion was unanimously carried to open school Sept 1st 1924
Secretary was instructed to notify Mr. Bunjaur about completing his work on
heating plant, and also to notify Mr. Lon Adams to complete his work on
building.

July 7 1924 School Board met with Auditor for settlement.

July 21 1924 Board met in special meeting with Mr. Bunjaur to see about laying sewer pipe
for indoor closets before cement would be put in basement.
Bunjaur figured the job at $130.00
On motion unanimously carried Mr. Bunjaur was given the contract.
On motion we bought 60 ft. of galvanized pipe to be laid at D.E. McFadden's
spring for carrying water the then under his outbuilding, so that latter,
water could be connected to the school bldg.
On motion Mr. Bunjaur was given a note for $899.00 dated July 1st 1924 for
furnaces according to agreement when furnaces were installed.

Aug 25 1924 A special meeting was called to see about Insurance for our Teachers and
(un-readable) for Smith school children.
On motion we take out Insurance under the State Workman's Insurance Trust
Fund. motion carried.
On motion an order was granted to pay Lewis Evans $60.00 for interest due on
the school order for $1,000 which he holds.

Aug 28 1924 Special meeting called, all members present
Sect. reported the note due at Title & Trust Co. On motion unanimously carried note and interest was paid $1521.75

Sept 30 1924 Regular meeting was called, F. Carrier, J.P. McCracken, Horner, Carrier &
L. Bartlett present.
A discussion arose about getting someone to do janitorial work or raise Mr. Dickey's
salary from $130.00 to $140.00 per month. Finally a motion was carried to
raise Mr. Dickey's salary to $140.00 and he was to see that the ashes were taken
out etc.

Nov 1 1924 A special meeting was called to see about note which was due at Brockwayville
Natl. Bank. Mr. Bunjaur held the note against us and put it in that
bank. On motion a check was granted to Brockwayville Bank face and
interest of note $916.98

Nov 10 1924 Special meeting was called to settle with Lon Adams contractor for
building.

On motion a check was granted Mr. Adams for $500.00 which is included in this
settlement.
On motion we pay 6 % of the remaining $416.00 from this date until said
$416.00 is paid.
The matter of electing Truant officer was discussed at some point.
On motion J.P. McCracken was elected Truant officer for West Warsaw School
District.

Dec 2 1924 The election of officers for coming year

L.E. Bartlett Secretary Brookville Title and Trust Co. Treasurer Motion
carried to borrow $800.00 from Title and Trust Co.

Dec 4 1924 Regular board meeting all members present.
