Jan 7 1926 School Board met in regular meeting, members present: J.P. McCracken,
Homer Carrier, Fred Van Norman, and D.E. McFadden.
Motion to pay all bills, Motion carried
Motion that President and Sect. see Earl Beatty to arrange for Teaching the
next term of school. Also see Fred Carrier about rent.
Motion that we get flag for Russell School, motion carried flag to be 4x6
feet wool.
Board adjourned to meet when teachers have taught another month.

Motion to pay bills and Teachers, motion carried.
Motion to grant an Employment Certificate to Mary Bell Smith, Motion carried

March 27 1926 School Board met in regular meeting
Paid bills and Teachers to date.

April 7 1926 School Board met in special meeting, Members present: J.P. McCracken, Homer
Carrier, Fred VanNorman & D.E. McFadden.
Board decided to pay $10.00 to Red Cross, also to have R.B. Homer to register
school children.
Annie McLaughlin was elected to room #2
Dorotha McFadden was elected to room #1
On motion we levy 18 mills school tax 6 mills and $5.00 (unreadable) on debt,
and 12 mills for the upkeep of schools.

May 10 1926 School Board met in special meeting,
Motion to pay Annie McFadden $100.00 per month providing she gets standard
Certificate. motion carried
Motion that we write to Miss Sue Smith, State salary $100.00 per mo. also,
The board would like to meet with her, motion carried

June 10 1926 School Board met in special meeting,
Motion to mail contract to Miss Bartholome at a salary of $130.00 per month.,
assistant Teacher in High School, motion carried
Moved and carried that we charge $7.20 per mo. tuition
Motion that we advertise for hauling Smith School students, rig to start
where Polk Twp. rig turns. Also for Coal and kindling for R.V. and Russell
schools Bids must be in July 1st. Sect. reported that he had taken
(unreadable) to Brookville to have Guy Shaffer and Ed Gilligan sworn in as
Directors. Shaffer to serve to Dec 1929 as Director. Gilligan to Dec 1931

June 17 1926
School Board met in special meeting
The new members Guy Shaffer and Edd Gilligan were present, having been
appointed by the Court were sworn.
Shaffer to serve to Dec 1929 - Gilligan to Dec 1931 Having lost our
Vice President through the death of Homer Carrier, there was a motion for Guy
Shaffer to serve as Vice President. motion carried
Board decided to allow J.P. McCracken $5.00 for services as Truant Officer.
He owing $5.00 for stove on account, balances the other.
Board decided to let L.E. Bartlett's children attend the Richardsville
school.

June 24 1926 School Board met in special meeting
Motion to set compulsorily attendance at 75%, motion carried
At the same time J.P. McCracken was elected Truant officer for the coming
term.
Compulsorily attendance first and last month of term.

July 1 1926 Motion that Guy Shaffer level yard in front of R.V. School as he has time,
motion carried
Motion that we get two first-aid kits, one for R.V and one for Russell,
Motion carried.
Motion that we sell regulator for $10.00, motion carried
Motion that we sell gas stoves for $2.50, motion carried
Motion that Edd Gilligan fix Flag Pole and coal house roof at Russell school
motion carried
Moved and seconded that we accept Al Rhodes bid for hauling Smith school at
$60.00 per month.
D.E. McCracken to see Roy McCracken to arrange for trial of coal at 14 cents
per bushel.
Not having received any bids for kindling, then was motioned to try to get
Clark Long to cut some.
Motion that we have nominations for teachers at Russell School, motion
carried - nominees:
Owen Gayley, Johnson, Stahlman, - vote: Gayley 3, Johnson 2

Aug 10 1926 School Board met in regular meeting, all members present
paid bills
Motion to pay Lewis Evans $500.00 on debt, motion carried
Motion to have no school on Thanksgiving, motion carried
Motion that Sect. get first-aid kits for R.V. and Russell schools, motion
carried

Motion to have High School teachers order books for library, not to exceed

This being the annual meeting, the board elected officers: President Guy
Shaffer, V.P. Fred Van Norman, D.E. McFadden remains Sect., Brookville Title and
Trust Treasurer. The Board decided that the Christmas vacation be from
Dec 23rd to Jan 3RD.
