Also motion carried that we instruct Co. Superintendent to look after rating cards for teachers for our District.

Feb 10 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present

Motion carried that we give right of way to Highway Dept. for building road, providing they take cars of the school sewer.

Moved by McCracken and seconded by Beatty that we put in 25 outlets in the school house for electricity, motion carried.  Bid for same to be in by March 1st and wiring to be done during Easter vacation.

McCracken & Beatty instructed to see contractors about drilling well and report.

March 4 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present but Beatty, 

report revived from Beatty about drilling well, no action taken, wait till next meeting for for further information.

Discussion of bids for wiring

Motion by Pearsall, seconded by McCracken that we give 4-H girls club use if the school house till September, motion carried.

Motion by McCracken, seconded by Pearsall that we give electrical job to Montgomery Ward Co. motion carried.

Motion carried that we give Paul Luther contract for hauling children another year

Motion carried that Sect. be instructed to tell Commissioners that our bond for tax collection should be $1,100.00 

Motion carried that the Sect be instructed to pay for electrical inspection if Montgomery Ward does not.

Motion carried unanimously that we give Mrs. Harvey for 1st year providing at same she receive contract she give us her resignation to take effect at close of year (unreadable)

June 10 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present

Motion by Pearsall that we pay $18.00 in advance to Jefferson Electric Co., motion carried

Motion carried unanimously that we give John McFadden hauling contract for another year

Sold furnace June (?) to L.G.Pearsall for $2.00

Aug 5 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present

Moved and carried we give Enumeration of children to O.M.Bedell for $6.00, motion carried

Motion we advertise for bids for  cleaning school house and furnishing coal, adv. to be put in Brookville American and Jefferson Democrat, bids to be opened one week from tonight.

Motion carried that we get Guy Best to fix doors for $8.50.

Sect. was instructed to get Smith to drill Well at once.

Aug 5 1940 Board met and opened bids and awarded Mrs. Radaker contract for cleaning and Harry Radaker contract for furnishing coal at $2.50 per ton.

Motion carried unanimously that we pay all bills except transportation of supplies. 

Motion made by McCracken, seconded by Pearsall that teachers and haulers are not paid till the months work is done.

Sept 30 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present

Motion that we charge Westerman girl $5.00 per month

Sect. instructed to see Hidingers,  McCracken to see Mrs. Wilson about Ruth Wilson's tuition, motion carried unanimously.

Pearsall appointed to see McGary about insurance on outside students,

Motion carried unanimously that we get blinds for windows at inspectors request,  Pearsall and Rhines to see about getting them.

Motion carried unanimously that we buy a new flag and present bill.

Motion carried that we instruct teachers to get the supplies ordered.

Motion carried that same officers serve another year.

Dec 6 1940 Board met at the School House, all members present except McCracken

Discussed schooling of Campbell's children, motion that we measure the road, and we did and found it to be 1.3 miles to his stop.

adjourned till next meeting for action on the Campbell case.

Dec 7 1940 Board met at the J.P.McCracken's, all members present in special meeting to settle the Campbell case.  Motion we notify the Campbells they are within the distance limit of our bus, they will have to go to our school or pay their own tuition, motion carried unanimous.  As payment of Pinecreek tuition had not been paid, it was held over till future date.
